On Christmas morning I received a special gift–two dozen mini cupcakes! I can honestly say this was my yummiest present!

Well, she sums up the event (that she unfortunately missed out on) by saying

I have tried Two Parts Sugar’s Raspberry Red Velvet and it was very good. I’m so happy to hear that they received second place in the Best Traditional category.

Getting a head start on things is Cupcake Blog Zen Cupcake. They have  posted a few pictures and an article summing up the event, and we were in it! They chose one of our favorite articles, where LA Times Reporter Elina Shatkin states:

Ultimately, it was all about riotous flavor pairings and unexpected finds, though many a cupcake was undone by frosting that was too sweet and overpowered the cake. But the white chocolate macadamia cupcake from Two Parts Sugar managed to melt the arteries of this die-hard white chocolate hater….

We’ll let you know the results, good or not so much, as soon as we here back from Dan over at Drink, Eat, Play. Oh, and I have to say, Dan did an amazing job organizing the event. It could not have gone smoother in my opinion! I guess there’s a reason why he does what he does! A big thanks goes out to Dan and everyone at Drink, Eat, Play for doing such a great job organizing this event (and getting us in on such short notice)!

We just came across a super cute blog called Taylored Expressions. Taylor, the head blogger, posts are composed of just about anything sweet, cute and crafty! While we weren’t listed in the top three of Taylor’s rankings, she did mention us as a favorite.

It was soooo tough to vote for just three top favorites so I wanted to give a shout out to some of my other favs: White Chocolate Macadamia from Two Parts Sugar…

On Christmas morning we hand delivered a box of Two Parts Sugar Cupcakes to The Cupcake Activist.  Here’s what she had to say:

On Christmas morning I received a special gift–two dozen mini cupcakes! I can honestly say this was my yummiest present!

We love to make our yummy treats for  birthdays, weddings and other special events. We have to admit, our all time favorite is when we can deliver our Two Parts Sugar treats as unexpected as a gift!

One of my favorite characteristics of Two Parts Sugar’s cupcakes are the unique flavors. The red velvet I tried wasn’t just a plain red velvet, it was raspberry red velvet. I love trying out new flavors!

We’re happy to hear she loved trying our Signature Raspberry Red Velvet Cupcakes!  We have put a lot of work into perfecting it and use fresh raspberries in every home-made batch.

I also ate a chocolate and vanilla bean cupcake. The cake was moist on all of them and the frosting was delicious, not too heavy but perfect for these mini cupcakes. My family and I give Two Parts Sugar a thumbs up!

We want to thank The Cupcake Activist for taking the time to arrange a tasting (sounds like a dream job!). We know the holidays can be crazy and we appreciate that she was able to squeeze us in! So again, thanks for the thumbs up.  We will continue to cook up new recipe combinations and will be sure to let you know all about them!

My favorite flavor was the raspberry red velvet. The only item that a few people mentioned was that the frosting was a little light.
